2011 Welcome to Garden on Cedar Hill Road…
With the passing of my husband Bob, I decided to take a couple of years
off from my gardening and Daylily business. It wasn't all bad news
however, I have new grandchildren that I have been traveling to see on
a regular basis and a new addition in my own household named 'Dr. Spankenstein',
a 4 year old Chihauhua which I inherited from my son.
We will be open for sales and visitors again this coming season, but we
do ask that you call or e-mail ahead of time to be sure we aren't
working in the Salon.
Our garden name comes from the fact that we live on Cedar Hill
Road, making it easy for our visitors to remember the location and the name. We not
only grow Daylilies but we have a great selection of Hostas aswell. Our
Daylily peak bloom is in mid-July, however, we normally start to see bloom
around July 4th.
We are an official AHS
Display Garden, and I continue in my roles as AHS Garden Judge, AHS Garden
Judge Instructor, AHS Exhibition Judge and AHS Exhibition Judge Instructor.
History
I have been a member of the Metropolitan Columbus Daylily Society, the Ohio Daylily Society, Midwest Hybridizers Group and
the American Hemerocallis Society for so many years that I myself have
lost count. I have been absent from the various Daylily meetings for a while, but
am starting to get right back into it, as I do miss my many Daylily
friends. I hope to see many of my friends at the Region 2 Winter
Symposium in Cincinnati this year.
While absent from the heavy gardening that
I used to do, my plants have increased extremely well, which in turn
means I have plenty of stock to sell this season.
Look out Columbus, Sharon is back!
I look forward to seeing many of my Daylily
and Hosta friends and neighbors once again in the gardens this coming
summer. It is always a pleasure to see so many gardening enthusiasts.
See you in the bloom season!
Happy gardening,
Sharon
